  • lbs sirloin tips, cubed
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1½ tsp Worcestershire sauce (halal)
  • ¼ tsp dried thyme
  • ¼ tsp rosemary
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ cup cold water (for slurry)

Instructions

  1. Season the cubed sirloin tips with flour and spices.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet; brown the beef in batches and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic in butter until fragrant.
  4. Add beef broth, bouillon cube, Worcestershire sauce (halal), thyme, rosemary, onion powder, and garlic powder; bring to a simmer.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and let it simmer for 20–25 minutes until tender.
  6. Mix cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry; add gradually to thicken the gravy as desired.
  7. Allow resting for about 5 minutes before serving.
