  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 14 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 32 oz chicken broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp tomato paste
  • 6 oz lasagna noodles, broken up
  • 1 cup frozen chopped spinach
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Ricotta cheese
  • 4 oz mozzarella cheese, cut in slices

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, brown 1 lb ground beef until fully cooked.
  2. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and 1/2 diced yellow onion; sauté until softened (about 3–5 minutes).
  3. Stir in seasonings: 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp dried basil, 1/2 tsp dried oregano, 1 tsp kosher salt, and black pepper to taste.
  4. Pour in liquids: 14 oz crushed tomatoes, 32 oz chicken broth, 1 cup water, and 2 tsp tomato paste; stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil before adding broken lasagna noodles (6 oz) and frozen spinach (1 cup); reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes until noodles are tender.
  6. Stir in 1/4 cup heavy cream and serve with dollops of ricotta cheese and sliced mozzarella on top.
