  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ⅔ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ⅓ cup apple juice
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup bourbon (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix cornstarch with salt and pepper. Toss in chicken to fully coat.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and brown on both sides for about 6 minutes total.
