Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package (14 oz) refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Stir in ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper until browned.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  5. Roll out pie crusts on a floured surface and cut into 4-inch circles.
  6. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in each circle's center, fold over to create a half-moon shape, and seal edges with a fork.
  7. Brush tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
